The fitness services at Kaiser Permanente’s Positive Choice Wellness Center are designed to help San Diego residents of all ages, shapes and sizes begin working towards a healthier way of life, one step at a time.

PERSONAL TRAINING
If you want to see real results from your work out, then train with a personal trainer. Strengthen muscles to prevent or ease a physical injury, or workout to look great. These trainers help educate and motivate you through your transformation.

METABOLIC RATE AND BODY FAT TESTING
Managing your weight is challenging, but these tests can make it easier. Metabolic rate testing tells you the calories you need each day and how many calories you need to burn to meet your weight management goals. Body fat testing will give you a clear idea of a healthy body weight range specific to your body frame.

EXERCISE and NUTRITION CONSULT

MUSCLE TONING CLASSES
Strengthen muscles you didn’t even know you had and have a lot of fun doing it! Classes meet twice a week and use light weights, bands, and fitness balls.

YOGA and SIMPLE YOGA CLASSES
Using gentle poses practice deep breathing and meditation while stimulating your muscles to increase strength and flexibility. If you are new to yoga or have an injury, Simple Yoga will lead you through gentle yoga positions using the aid of the wall or chairs.

PERFORMANCE VO2
Your potential to excel is revealed through a Performance VO2 test. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, your aerobic capacity is measured by an exercise physiologist, pinpointing your anaerobic threshold and guiding you to the specifics you need to train better and increase your speed and endurance.

BODY AGE™ FITNESS TESTING
You actually maybe much younger than you think. Discover how “old” your physical age is using the Polar™ Body Age system. We will provide you with baseline measurements of your body strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and body fat. When we combine this with a health risk assessment, you will learn your true body age.
The appointment includes a consultation with one of our Personal Trainers who help develop an individualized plan to help achieve your personal fitness goals and a youthful body age.
